Lack of reasoning, lack of motive for the character, there isn't even that much background of Lupin to say that he is Bi...so I'm going give you a couple of answers

Y'know, there's a lot of bi-oriented people in comparison to gay people in the comic. I mean, Campy's bi, Conner's bi, Eve is bi, Max is 'technically' bi (depends how you look at it, I guess, but I think my point still remains valid), and that's only the confirmed main cast.

Might just be me, but I think Lupin would be more flat-out homosexual than bisexual. Far from the point of bursting into flame, mind you, but still... Makes a lot of sense, if you take into account that he might be overcompensating for something with all the machismo he displays, and whatnot. Definitely would explain a few things. Besides, even though in this comic sexuality isn't that big a deal or anything, but I suppose it can still be a sensitive topic to some people, right...? He could very well be straight, or bi, or whatever; but until QD sets it in stone, he just comes across as gay to me.

((And personally, I'm more fond of Lupin/Bruce, though I know that'll never happen... *sigh* I've got a deranged mind. ^^;; ))
