The great Kazemaru gallery

Postby VentKazemaru » Sun Apr 18, 2010 8:41 pm

I been drawing for a while, but I never actually showed my work to a lot of people. For some reason I can draw a human body quite well but, never a human head. I guess that's what you get from teaching yourself to draw.

These drawn'ins are relatively new, but I just picked up a new style.

This is Brian O'Donell, a pyrokinetic wolf, Because of this he's immune to heat, fire and spiciness, however his clothes are not, He's also near sighted.

Image

This guy is Jaeger "Dagger" Savage. A treasure/bounty hunting tiger whose specialty are daggers. He is the owner of the thunder blade, A highly volatile sword that emits constant energy, otherwise electricity, Only he can wield it, anyone else,ZAP! He's also very lazy.

Image

This is supposed to be practice on drawing the characters sitting down.

This is my latest version of my fursona. I have tendency to wear gloves for no reason.

This is a new picture of Brian drew him again when I figured out how to draw muzzles right.

Image

It's a bit hard to see, but I have a habit of inking my pictures and smoothing them out later.

Aw, hell, we got a furry DaVinci here.

You, uh... You take requests?

:>
And the question is: is there a solution...at all? Is there finitely many, or is there infinitely many? An infinite number of solutions? That'd get much more difficult. And you can multiply them and, uh, take powers and add them. Variables multiplied, powers added. That's it. That's the point we will make.

Perhaps, it's like, uh... A quadratic function such as (x^2)+5x+7. That's a polynomial. An infinite number of solutions? That'd get much more difficult.

Your stuff is pretty damn awesome. I was wondering if you made your own avatar, and now I know!

You know what your pics need now? Colour and shading! >:D They would look fantastic with it.

I didn't think I was that good! I'm just an amateur! I never even taken an art class.

I never taken requests before, but since I'm running out of ideas lately, I'll see what I can do, if you ask. It might be good practice

Also coloring really isn't my specialty, I just can't do the shading right. And I'm don't know how to make furries look "furry". Any tips?

When I was referring to shading, it can just be as simple as applying a layer of transparent black to where you want the 'darker' parts of your work to be (the parts with minimal sunlight). Nothing too complicated.

As for making furries look more 'furry', try to use curved lines more often. It makes it look more organic and natural. Adding little bits off 'fluff' to the chest, elbows, fringe, ears, calves and other points of the body may also help make it look more 'furry' (kind of like how Quetza Drake does in the FH comic). If you wanted to really do something challenging, you could apply fur texture, however only pros can really do this properly. :/

Hm... Could you draw my WIP fursona? It's a red fox (may change in a couple months), normal height, ordinary build, and brown eyes. He has a small scar on his forehead from a gaming rage accident, and wears a Klonoa-themed t-shirt, faded jeans, plus generic black sneakers. He also wears a red hat with a Gran Turismo logo on it.

I miss the 90's. :P

I'm still tweaking it. :I Take any creative liberties you want.

If you don't want to, that's fine as well. After all, there's a 4% chance I'll remember my 'sona without writing it down. :V

All right I'll take your request, but I need to know 2 things: What color do you want your paws?(real foxes have black legs so that'll be default). And what's your head fur style?

EDIT: Here is a very rough sketch, you don't mind me using it as practice for angles do you? It my first attempt at this sort of view too.

Well, the legs are a little on the short side, and the feet seem out of proportion, but... Well, that's all there is to say. I'm damn positive this'll turn out great.

I think the main issue is the angle, which makes it easy to squash proportions. Don't worry about getting too dramatic with the viewpoint.

You choose the paw color. As for the head fur, how about just some basic, small locks of fur jutting from the front-right of the hat?

And one small change, unless it's too late: instead of a Klonoa t-shirt, just give him Klonoa's hat, and a Gran Turismo shirt instead.

It's also reminiscent of the Scout, so that takes the cool factor to 120%. :D

Yeah, I guess I was getting too ambitious. I'll make it simpler then if you want. You sure you don't want a klonoa shirt? I got really good idea for that. because all I know about gran tursimo is the logo.

Image

Here's my fursona in color.
Like I said color isn't so good.

EDIT:
Here's my final draft!

It looks fine to me, you definitely have the coolest shirt I ever made. Though the muzzle looks a bit odd. I'll make another if you want.

The muzzle's fine, methinks. Just move the nose over a bit. Also, I think that shirt is the single best idea ever. Keep it! :D

Just work on the hat's visor, and I think it'll be no less than spot on!

Yyyeaahhhh. When I posted my final draft, that was the final version. Sorry if i couldn't make the changes! But that means Your Fursona is now finished!

Image

About the cap, I can't really show your scar if the visor covers it. But you look quite nice don't ye think?

If anyone else wants a pic from me, give me an idea for a pose and please be specific, I don't to ruin it too late.

Hey, I'm happy with it as is. :]

Honestly, with what you just drew, I think simple errors like that can be overlooked. You nailed the jeans's coloring, the fur looks, well, furry, and you have no idea how much I want a shirt like that!

Maybe I can do some digital editing later when I'm on the PC, so it can be an avatar! I'm a transparency freak. :P

Thanks, Vent. I owe you one, big time. If you want a free (non-Steam) game, or a set of avatars with your drawings digitally enhanced and colored, GfWL master key, or anything else you can think of--just say the word.

Told you it looks better in colour! >:D

Well, what I've seen so far from you is pretty awesome, so I might like a request. I've included a reference sheet to make things easier.
Scramjet wrote:Reference: Border Collie. Standard Black and white fur pattern. Blue eyes, spiky blonde hair. Wears t-shirts (usually blue) and shorts (usually khaki).
My fursona picture references:

Real-Life Border Collies:

There's two poses I have in mind. It's up to you which one you want to choose.

First Pose: My character holding a Ppsh-41 (Sub-Machine Gun) and aiming through the iron sights of the gun (basically he's holding it up at eye level). The character is firing rounds into the distance, similar to the picture below:
Image

Also, this is what a Ppsh-41 looks like:
Image

This pose is probably the harder of the two poses to draw.

Second Pose: My character standing with his arms crossed and looking straightforward. The picture should be looking up at the character from the viewpoint of the ground. This is a similar pose to this picture below:
Image

This is probably easier to draw than the other pose.

If you could draw either one of those, that'd be fantastic. :)
