Something's been worrying me....

Postby Eian » Thu Aug 27, 2009 7:22 pm

Death, to be precise....
I'm not anywhere near death myself yet, but a friend of mine is at the hospital right now getting checked (she has to every 2 months i think)
it suddenly poped the subject on my head...what's death like, what's after it, are things gonna go all dark never feeling a thing or are we all gonna end up ghosts or in heaven/hell

i know i might be worrying too much, but the thought of it has just taken sleep away from me, and i can't get it off my head :?

Death is not something to be afraid of necessarily. What happens when you die? Well your body goes away, but what is a body? It is my belief that the body is merely a vessel that holds a spirit. So what happens to this spirit? You'll get different answers depending on who you ask. Different religious views teach different things. The thing is, don't worry. It happens when it happens. You just gotta let it go. It's one of those things that is just out of our control. If you worry, do you think that it will make you live longer? Man has pondered this question ever since the first time somebody died. But don't let it get to you. All you can do is be the best person you can be with the one life you've been given. Make that life worth it!

At least that's what I think....

AWWWWWW MAAAAAAN! I have that same problem; I ponder what is after death, and ten I get sad and can't sleep...
And now you've reminded me... *Glare* Oh well *stops glaring*
I'm not too worried about death, just live life to its fullest. That's what I say! Add something special to every day, make every day different! And be close to your loved ones!
Sorry to hear about your friend, why does she have to visit every 2 months?

Jeez, Death is my greatest fear.
Fear of the unknown.
Maybe your grandiose vocabulary is a pathetic compensation for an insufficiency in the nether regions of your anatomy.

she's never been too specific about what she has (note this is a person i know only by irc chat, but she's one of the people i'd give an arm/leg/life for) all i know is it's terminal

and sorry for reminding you, i was kind of afraid to post this precisely for the fact it would bring up the subject to someone else :(

i do believe there's something like a spirit, i mean, we're all basically energy, and energy for a fact cannot be destroyed...but i'm worried if we'll keep concious or not, what i fear most is not leaving my body...is not being concious about anything anymore

I don't believe in spirits, I don't believe in the afterlife.

You die, you rot, you decay, you disappear. As scary as a thought that is, that's what I think, and so death to me, is indeed something to be feared. To have your consciousness wiped out and cease to exist for all of eternity is a grim subject.

I had asked this question to someone I knew: Have you ever not had one thought over a period of minutes? that is what death is like.

He told me he had times where he had no thoughts. But that is medically impossible to not think unless you are dead, or at least only kept alive by machines. All consciousness is was a fluke of the evolution of life, the ability to think on our own doesn't me we could do so forever. I agree with Anonymous G, your dead. that's the extent of it, but I'm not afraid of it, considering I have no idea when I die, why worry every moment about it?

Aww, how sad...
And don't worry about me, I'll be fine...

To all who read this post, I suppose we will find out in about 100 years, so, who's first? :)

If only we had 100 years
but who knows, with advances in technology we might just be able to at least last a little longer
The whole Ghost thing goes to mind when i think of death, now that i've started going through the subject....again "energy" comes up, like i said before we're supposedly just Energy on matter, then again ghosts supposedly ARE energy too...
eh, that's material for a cult right there, i probably should stop

The thought of death starts to get me thinking, which eventually leads to depression, which leads to sleep deprivation

I just...cant imagine ceasing to exist..
I've always been the person that liked the sidekicks more
than the hero. Tails and Luigi kick ass, people just dont see it cause theyre focusing on the overinflated egos of sonic and mario

I am extremely not surprised.

Truth is, I'm glad I won't be here forever. I don't fear death for myself but for others I do. I would never want to be on Earth forever. I'll take Heaven any day.

I don't fear death. Death is nothing more than the release of my worldly burden. If there is nothing beyond death, so be it. If there is, great!

"Death is just another path. One that we all must take". This quote is basically how I see death. I like this quote not because its from lord of the rings lol but it just hits home to me.Hard to explain lol.Basically I'm saying I'm not afraid of death because everyone dies no matter who you are.No use in worrying about something that's gonna happen no matter what.I hope your friend is doing well.

That's why I think it's odd when people freak out and scream "We're all gonna die!" Well, yeah. Everybody dies. It's what happens after life. Don't worry, be happy!
