double think, ingsoc, etc...
I just wanna disscuss these things... they're getting to me...
Newspeak... Doesn't it make sense? Shortening our vocab while keep the meanings.

What do you mean, "worth it"? I haven't read the book, but from what I heard... wasn't Newspeak (not sure if this is really a spoiler or even true, but nonetheless) [spoiler]one of the government's mind-control techniques, eliminating anything that could be used to express a negative opinion about the government?[/spoiler]

no. Newspeak was there from before. It was created, and people thought it'd take over old english. that was in the 40s. never happened.

As someone who loves the English language, I would violently kill anyone who tried to enforce anything like newspeak.
Although when you think about it, isn't that what us nerds are doing? Butchering the language to some degree?
"I see your point" was reduced to "I see," and now we've reduced it to "seen." And of course there are the acronyms, which I personally love. ZOMFG WTF BBQ etc.
Anyway, vote no to newspeak and yes to nerdspeak.
P.S: I love Big Brother.
