Why do you have a fursona?

Postby RandyDarkshade » Mon Mar 02, 2009 12:53 pm

Hi all, well, i am not feeling to good this afternioon and whilest just sitting with my thoughts i wondered why, those furries who have a fursona.....Why do you have one?, is there a reason behind it?, or is it maybe just a character you c reated?

For me, mine started as a character on an online game i started playing a few years ago, furcadia, (not the best of games i know) anyway, back then i didn't even know the furry fandome existed. when i found out, and found out about fursonas and such, i decided to make my character my fursona, and he has been ever since. He hasn't changed much through the years, well appart from giving him a stripe down his tail and back making some mistake him for a skunk and not a squirrel xD!

There are also reasons why i gave him what he has:

Species: i chose squirrel as they are my utmost favourite animal
fur color: I chose black as it is my favourite color (even if it is technicaly a shade)
Eye color: I Chose blue as mine are blue......well blue grey
Hair: I chose blonde, mainly cause he would look bald from a distance with black hair xD! besides i have black hair irl.
Weapons: I chose two side arms (desert eagle .50's) Because i like those.
Build: I made him toned, as that is what i dream to be :p.
Height: Matches my height of 5 feet 4 inches
Personality: Basicaly me and more.

So what about you other folk who have fursonas?
I will bite your nuts if you piss me off.

I had to answer a question like this before, I now wish I had saved that answer.....

In short, I think it's because I hate this world. A fursona helps me displace myself for a time.

It's sorta of a long story involving this comic, drawing, and failing at drawing people...
Also involves many children movies and a bout of drepression from a combination of said children movies and Interactive fiction...
Anyone heard of a interactive fiction called "Photopia"?

I don't have one, although I'll admit it seems fun. I'm sorta scared of revealing stuff. I only just releaved to my mother that I roleplay, last year...

I just need confidence...that's all.

1. maybe its just fun for that person.
2. heck, maybe they're life aint very actiony (lol) and they imagine what'd be like to be an anthro
well, both of these apply to me lol.
I've always been the person that liked the sidekicks more
than the hero. Tails and Luigi kick ass, people just dont see it cause theyre focusing on the overinflated egos of sonic and mario

Damn I forgot to answer this! Well, my mother does not like D&D and anything related, but when I was younger I think she thought I'd be caught in a bad crowd. Anyway, she has always been a little more overprotective of me than of my younger brother and sister.

Then again I'm really not the type to reveal stuff too often via word of mouth, because I tend to worry about the consequences a lot (I blame the school social hierarchy and how I was at the bottom of it for most of my time there)

And yes, that means I've been worrying for two months about what could happen taking the next step.

I didn't have a fursona when I first came to the forum. In fact, I was new to the fandom itself. I had no idea what one was, until somebody brought it up, so I decided to research what a fursona was. I guess I ended up with a wolf because I'm a bit hot-headed. I can get really angry really quickly. Wolves are just so powerful, and ... I don't know. I also had always been in to werewolves for quite a while.

For me my fursona is like an alter-ego. it represents me.

Back in my freshman year in high school, I found out what the fandom was, and I made my Fursona a Jackal cause I was quite the loner on the outskirts, but over the years I've become less patient with people and I have been more outright with anger. I also got into playing Werewolf: The Apocalypse, so I just changed over to a character from that game, Wolves just fit my personality better now. and I love playing a BSD Glasswalker, so that's what my character is.
