After emptying the contents of several of the boxes, Kevin had ignited the fire Alice had built.

"They should be ok now. I still cant believe that woman threatened to kill us if the soldiers did not stand down. I should go help them, I would probably have an advantage since the cold does not seem to affect me." Alice thought as she stood by the half open garage door.

"So...what exactly happened?" Kevin asked as he looked up at Alice from beside the fire.

"Sorry Edge but I cant tell you right now. I need to go help those soldiers." Alice said as she began to exit.

"Soldiers!?" Kevin exclaimed.

"Yes soldiers." Alice replied. "Look there's no time to explain I have to go." Alice said as she rushed out the door.

"Hmm...interesting, the odds seemed to have tipped back in my favor." Karl thought to himself from atop the shelves. I could either wait here for an opportunity, or I could go hunt down that girl in this storm."

Meanwhile outside, Alice was trying to find her way back to the alleyway. But even with the infrared vision from her vampire vision. Finding her way back was still an extremely difficult task.

"To bad the snow covered that soldiers foot prints, it would have made things a hell of a lot easier, plus throw in the fact that this wind is throwing off any and all scent trails." Alice thought as she wandered through the blizzard.

Two gasped for breath, both hands coming to her throat as the freezing sensation took hold. Sinking to one knee, she desperately pawed at her throat, trying to make it warm up to no avail. For a long moment the feline stared at the ground, then she stood, facing the vixen with a staggering gait as she fought to stay conscious. Twisting her right hand, she brandished her remaining knife, ready to make a last stand...

A gunshot, strangely muted by the snowstorm, rang out at the same time that Alice moved in to strike the vixen. As the vixen shifted to block Alice, the bullet passed through her shoulder just above her heart, the reptillian shouting out a curse, "Christ! Stupid girl!" The soldier warped in, lifting his gun to intercept the vixen's strike toward Alice, rendering it useless, before giving her a sharp kick to her knee which gave out a sickening crack. Grabbing Alice by the collar, the reptile pulled her back as he drew his pistol on the vixen, "Look, you're hurt and so is my teammate... get out of here... we won't give chase... personally, I don't give a shit about you, I just want King. Don't get in our way, just leave..." The pistol in his hand was aimed perfectly at her chest, ready to fire if she tried anything...

______________

Three stared at Anima for a long time, hands clenching into fists, "Ain't up ta me son, you gotta take it up with-"

"Let him go Three."

Three's eyes went wide with disbelief as he looked at One, who stood their looking Anima up and down. One waved his hand toward Three who grudgingly shifted out of the way, "These kids sure are something, aren't they," One asked offhandedly, "makes you feel a bit obsolete doesn't it? Or are you not the kind to feel that way? Little matter. You have your orders, we have ours. Ours is to kill King. Right now, your orders are simply to watch out for the vixens, so we're just gonna follow you. Your orders don't stop you from leading us to wherever you're supposed to meet King, right?"

Drake froze as King touched his shoulder, the shadows receding as the reptile watched a number of King's men jump down to fight, being strewn about as much as they created destruction. It was a massacre in his eyes, supers being gunned down by the trained killing force below... pathetic. Every muscle fiber in Drake's body screamed with the desire to leap into the fray, but the hand on his shoulder was more binding than any rule. So he waited.

Supers died before his eyes while he did nothing despite the building tension in his body. The lift settled with a hollow noise and King's hand lifted. Drake sprinted off the lift, his eyes flashing dangerously. He jumped upon the first mechanized unit, climbing up its front as his shadow power went to work, the tendrils grabbing at the guns mounted on either side, dragging them to lace up its closest ally before Drake jumped from it, the tendrils flexing as he landed to hurl the ball of metal into two others before he raced up, three tendrils slicing into the pilots from the shadows of their own machines.

Tendrils writhed behind him as bullets raced through them. Drake turned on the unit firing at him and reached out with one hand in the unit's direction, two tendrils racing across the floor to snag the unit's legs and yank it off its feet. Blood rage filled Drake and the next thing he knew was the tendrils tearing the pilot's arms off...

Jack sttod up after reading the magazine, and was getting impatient. He had sat there for over an hour reading the numerous magazines and papers that littered the waiting room table until he was sick of the sight of text, and all the while, those two figures blocking a hallway had not moved, at all.

Oh come on Jack, just ask one of them about your lab...area..thingy, and see what is takeing them so long before I begin to prossess all the crap you have just read...the science is giving me a headache...

Fine, fine, I'll ask, just shut your whining, thats giving ME a headache.

Jack stood up slowly, then casually walked over to the two figures blocking the hallway.
he looked up at them with a face like someone who has literally been waiting a lifetime but has a numb backside as well.

"Excuse me, I have been waiting for over an hour, perhaps more..I don't have a watch so I don't really know how long it's been but, when will I be able to use the lab that I asked to use? and what on earth is keeping you guys so long?"

Crystal twisted with a grimace, one hand on her shoulder, the frozen blood already leaking and twisting around and between her fingers, forming a frozen shoulder guard, a slow spiral of ice twisting around her knee, creating an armored joint to support the damaged joint. her frozen gaze locking on the Feline as she weilded the blade, then to the Reptile in hardened armor as he 'snapped' into existance.

She straitened her poise as the blood stopped from her shoulder, removing her hand from the damage as the ice hardened into the plate of shoulder armor. her icey gaze locked on the reptillians faceplate, her fist curling and uncurling, cracking the ice built on her fingers and letting it tinkle into the soft snow.

"you should listen to your partner, Feline" her thick accent cutting through the air as her icy gaze borred into the feline, a small smile curling her lips "Learn when you are out matched" her gaze snapped to the reptile, her position unmoving

"It would seem we are destined to do battle till but one remains" she smirked "collateral should you change your mind" She lifted a hand toward the feline, suddenly balling her hand into a fist, the tightness in her throat closing more as the ice hardened and thickened, cutting off the felines oxygen, forcing the reptile to choose between focus on her, or his dying partner "Until next time, sweetheart"

She turned and stepped off into the blizzard, the sharp snow whipping around her, blasting across the other combatants as she vanished once more into the blizzard. Slowly the torrents of pummeling ice began to slow around them, becoming a soft snow fall around them before stopping entirely, the sky above clearing as the alleyway opened back up, showing everything covered in the heavy snow, the heavy chill still in the air as the Feline was allowed to gasp for breath once more, the ice in her throat slowly melting and receeding back as the vixen released her hold on her.
______

Anima shakes his head slowly as he steps past the bear, easily able to look the combatant in the eye, but his vision was focused no where but on the black porshe sitting, somehow entirely untouched, in the center of the square, as if caught in the eye of the storm where nothing moved. "I'm afraid it does not work quite like that..." the passenger door opened obediently as he walked around the car, giving a gentle hiss as the suicide door rose into the air.

Gently, carefully, he took a knee, setting the vixen into the sports cars seat with the utmost care, moving her legs to keep her in place when the car moved, buckling the seat belt around the vixens frame, carefully adjusting her arms around it before setting both her hands carefully in her lap, out of the way in a posture of poise.

Then he did an interesting thing, from the glove box, he removed a pure white cloth, holding it as if fragile silk between his fingers as he carefully cleaned the blood and dirt from the girls facial fur as best he could. with a final touch, he set the cloth aside, back inside the glove box. The vixen looked as if she was doing nothing more than taking a well earned rest after a hard day in the passenger seat of the panthers car.

"There is no contingency plan" he said as he stood after the long silence. "it is not how operations work, king is no fool, even now he is using this time, the time she and the others have given, in blood and life, to his goal." he strode around the front of the car, a click, whirr and roar as the engine kicked to life automatically "While you have been here chasing us, creating chaos and mayhem, King has been getting closer to his prize." The driver side door kicked up as he approached, the seat rotating for the feline to sit back in before it would resume it's original position for driving "Gentlemen, the white knights have just been had, by the black King's Pawns"
______

Both of the vixens heads rotated to watch black as he approached, remaining utterly still otherwise, a small teal light lighting for a moment behind the lenses before vanishing "It has been twenty-three minutes" she corrected him, an electronic resonance hidden in the firm female voice "Your patience is appreciated by The Neosuns Corporation" both spoke up in unison with their synthisized voices "Please return to your seat, you will be notified when the facility is ready for use"
______

A growling laugh slowly built in the felines chest as the war raged around him, stepping off the platform as bodies flew in pieces all around. Light panels formed around him as miniguns roared their thunder at him, an open palm brought a burst of lightning tearing the machine apart in a bright fireball. two armored supers landed before him, standing back to back, a blast of fire and ice immediately firing his direction, the two streams splitting feet before they even reached him.

The Streams of power suddenly twisted about each other as the feline twisted the trained supers abilities to his will, steam rising from behind the veil as the supers struggled to maintain the streams. A sudden flash from behind the veil and one of the supers was screaming in pain, his hand missing, and the nub alread cauterized as the hand hit the ground with a wet fleshy thump. the other super looking his partners way, in sudden shock. not even able to get a word out before another flash came from behind the stream, a firy disc flashing out and through the super. the armored figure crumpling to the ground, his head rolling away as he landed.

The Feline strode confidently through the mess, grabbing and launching the super with the missing hand into a nearby wall, cracking the ceramic material and leaving a blood smear as he sank to the floor. a growl of annoyance rose from his chest as he adjusted the slim shades he wore. more of the soldiers and trained supers standing between him and his goal.

Explosions tore their way through the crowd of soldiers, ripping steel and flesh alike, tearing them to pieces and tossing them like nothing more than rag dolls standing between the feline and his goal.

The ceramic white doors pushed open, the feline brushing ceramic dust from his jacket. "I was beginning to worry you might not make it here, King" The feline looked up to the voice, a single form standing on the far side of the small room, clad in a black lab jacket, contrasting against his stark white, pristine fur. a lean form by comparrison to the strong form of the feline, his demeanor very carefully portrayed, very exact in every movement, not a strand of his perfect fur out of place, not a wrinkle in his pristine black jacket, nor a scratch on the slim lenses settled on his nose. one of the wolfs long ears rotated as he glanced over his shoulder at the feline, a wry grin on his face as his hands continued their work, moving equipment behind the glass. "All this running around you and you're men have been doing up on the surface, while we hid right under your nose. Impressive wasn't it?" The feline remained silent, and the wolf just smiled his sweet, knowing smile "Oh come now, you must have Something to say..."

"Give me the source, Kane" The wolf just clicked his tongue and shook his head

"I don't have to be a mind reader to have known that's what you'd ask for. strait to the point as always, hmm mister king?" the Wolf chuckled to himself, still facing the machines behind the glass. finally, a soft bluish glow began to rise from the base of the window the wolf worked at, the machines finally turning down and returning to their stored positions. The wolf finally turned to face the feline, holding a single elaborate tube of glowing blue fluid. "Here it is--" the glass protecting the machinery suddenly exploded into a million leathal shards as a bolt of lightning tore it apart, the shrapnel filling the empty air where the wolf had been moments before "Tsk tsk mister king, so impatient" the wolf mocked, now leaning against a glass desk, fogged from beneath to match the sterile white theme of the office. the bottle of blue fluid resting calmly on the desk beside the wolf. King growled, and the wolf held his hands to his face in mock terror, before the wry grin returned, his hands returning to their position on the edge of the desk as he leaned back idly. "Come now king, what is a fight between Gods? you seek to do nothing but waste more of my precious time with these silly antics...ah, but you cannot leave here empty handed can you, you've devoted too many resources into this endevor" the wolf stood with a slow ease, a pristine white pedestal slowly rising from the floor between the wolf and the feline "Very well, I will make you a deal..." he scooped the bottle up with a delicate grace, his hands working expertly as he undid a cover on the bottom, revealing a gear set into the bottom. one which he set neatly into place atop the pedestal, an audible click and whirr as the gears meshed and the bottle locked into place, slowly rotating. a Digital timer suddenly appearing against the stark white of the side of the pedestal, set at thirty seconds.

"Here is my deal king," the wolf set his hands to either side of the bottle, resting gently on the pedestal "This, is one of my latest little toys, one I've been Dying to try out too I might add...Clean radiation burst. anything living caught in the blast radius, isn't...as well as complete and through destruction of anything unlucky enough to be in the radius...and here's the best part, no fallout, means we can immediately take over, and use the land! brilliant right? I want to call it an anti-matter burst, but that's not quite approiate for what it is, and the guys down in the ad department won't let me since it's considered 'false advertisement'" he rolled his eyes almost comically "Ah, but I digress don't I...here is my deal. you may have, this bottle" his furred hand rested gently on the bottle as he spoke "if, you test out my little toy for me. This...bomb, if you must call it such a crude name, is set to detonate when this timer reaches zero, and this timer, is activated when said bottle, is removed" he leaned on the pedestal in an almost leasurely way "Now here's the thing though...the techies couldn't quite get the timer to sync up quite properly, so it might be thirty seconds, it might be less. I don't really know. It's a prototype, you know how those things are..." He shrugged and waved it off "Now, all you must do, is lift the bottle.." he pulled the bottle from the gears with a soft 'click', and started pointing at the now stopped gears on one side of the connection "and those gears down there will no longer align--" he looked at the bottle in his hand, as if seeing it for the first time "Oooo...I was supposed to let you do that...wasn't I..." a most sinister grin slowly crept across his lips "My bad"

Alarms all around the lower facility began to sound out their warning of an immediate danger, soldiers and supers alike abandoning their fights to the sound of the warnings, some falling from shots to the back, others taking hits as and continuing as they tried to make their hasty retreat, even kings men starting to get the hint and beginning to join the hasty retreat.

a slim hand grabbed onto drakes shoulder, the shifter looking worried as she tried to pull him along "Come on Drake! the fights over! we gotta get outta here! this place is coming down!"

Kage leaned forward, thinking to himself, trying to ignore the muffled sounds of explosions from over his head.
I've been in this room for... Two months? I brought enough food for five. Getting a little boring in here, but otherwise okay. Getting a little tired of salads and ramen, but still okay. It's still better than being out there.
Kage shuddered, and turned back to face the room he was in. A dingy, concrete room with two lights. Two chairs and a table, and a whole pile of crates in one corner. A hot, steaming water pipe stretched across the roof.
Two months, he thought to himself, and I still can't control this thing.
The room wobbled, and transformed into a garden. Kage sat on a stone bench, a bush behind him. The flowers buzzed with-
Crap. The flowers.
One sunflower wobbled in the middle of a field, seemingly normal. But Kage knew what to look for. A corruption spread slowly from the flower's base, the ground beneath it turning black. Nearby flowers wilted, browning and falling. The corruption spread more quickly with every inch it covered, turning stone statues into gargoyles, carefully trimmed hedges into writhing masses of worms. The sun sank slowly behind the scene, the sky turning blood red. Suddenly, it stopped, the black, twisted earth ending about twenty feet away from him. A weed strained towards him, the tip snapping and spitting, almost like a rabid animal.
Kage sighed, and banished the illusion from the room, the bloodied sky fading into the concrete grey that was so familiar.
It gets closer every day. he thought. What happens when it reaches me?

The feline's gaze didn't waiver as she forced herself to take a step forward before her throat froze up again. Falling to her knees, desperately trying to get more air in her lungs. The reptile only waited long enough to make sure the vixen wasn't fooling him before diving to his partner, his hands feeling her neck, cursing at the frigid temperature. Reaching for her helmet, he put it back on her head before reaching to his chest, removing a panel to yank out a hose. Removing a panel from Two's back, Four pushed the hose into a receiving slot and curled tightly to himself as he pushed his suit's heating system into Two's.

Several moments passed and Four began to shiver violently in the slowly subsiding blizzard. Soon he was shivering as though have a mild seizure and still Two couldn't catch her breath. Finally, just as Four decided that they were going to die, Two piped up, "Th-that's enough, disconnect..." Four bit back a sigh of relief as he disconnected from Two's armor and blessed warmth flooded his suit. The two soldiers looked at each other, silently admitting that they had been beaten.

Without a word, they stood and Four took hold of Two's arm before they vanished from that spot...

_________

Three looked at One, receiving a nod, and grunted, stepping forward. His claws latched under the frame of the car as he braced himself... And lifted the car AND Animas, "I don't think ya quite get the picture partner... You're not going anywhere except for one of two places: High security prison or the morgue."

__________

Drake was having the time of his life, wrenching metal and breaking bones as soldier after heavily armored soldier fell before him. His vision had narrowed to only the people before him that had to die. Standing amid the fallen, Drake only started to register the alarms when the shifter grabbed his arm.

His eyes focused on her with dangerous intensity, "King hasn't called the retreat, he needs more time!" He blinked several times, looking around for King amid the scattering people, spying him only due to his size, standing before a wolf that smiled arrogantly at King. Drake's eyes widened in awe... It was like looking at two Gods, standing face to face. Focused so intently, the shifter would find it easy to drag him along...

An annoyed huff slipped from the panthers nose, the nostrils flaring in annoyance "...very well, if your dirictives will be sated only by a fight to the death..." his powerful hand suddenly shot from the open window, latching tight onto the face of the bears helmet, and pulling, hard and fast, slamming the bears head into the roof of the car, leaving a massive dent and sending the bear staggering back as the porshe thuded back to earth. the door kicked open and up as the panther stepped out "...then I would be honored to dig your grave soldier" The next blow came just as hard and fast, a surprising agility for the large feline, driving hard into the bears chest plating, an audible crack coming from the manufactured armor "I will bury you in that little tin suit" he growled out
__________

The Wolf grinned at the feline, the air practically alive with the tension between the two. an island of calm among the chaos panic running for the only exit. the single, massive lift that would take the survivors to the surface. supers, mechs and Kings men alike, all scrambling for the lift, those that could, took flight, carrying those of their own comrades they could up the shaft, others on their own entirely, abandoning the others for the sake of their own survival.

The wolf stood, turning the vial over in his hand "Mmm..well, since I did your job for you, I guess i get to keep this then hmm?" he grins as King's stance changes and he growls out a warning

"Give me the vial Kane!" he growled out, his stance becomeing aggressive, but holding his ground.

Kane shook his head and rolled his eyes, setting two fingers against his forhead "come now King, no witty banter between old friends?" he sidestepped, not even using his power, as the machine arm from behind the shattered glass crushed the corner of the desk "...I guess that would be a no...anyone ever tell you your short game sucks? all the power in the world and all you can focus on is getting more of it...such a waste" his demeanor suddenly changing as he sneared

A sudden blur sent the feline staggering back from a sudden, unexpected hit, yet the Wolf appeared unmoved "All that power, and all you seek is more for yourself, no vision, no goal. For them to give You the power of the gods was a foolish mistake. One I intend to correct." The Feline barreled at him, his fur taking on a hardened metal sheen, fire erupting around his fingers, but his hand landing on nothing but empty air, bolts of lightning tearing through empty space. Always the wolf was where he was not. "Beggers and thieves...all of them. such corruption on all the levels. heh. funny how the world works isn't it King?" The heavy crack of concrete on steel skull had King crashing to the ground, for only the second time in his career, the Wolf striding elegantly toward him "In order to create order, I must first create chaos...to save the world, I must first destroy all that it is"
______

The Twin vixens looked to each other in perfect unison, shapes and symbols dancing across their visors before both turned back toward the waiting area, taking a few steps forward from their post to make themselves known "Attention, Emergency protocols are in effect. For your own safety and well being, it is asked that you evacuate the Neosuns Facility Immediately." They of course, would be the last to leave as the patrons in the waiting area scrambled to their feet, hurrying out the front doors.
______

A low rumble began to build, as if the beginnings of an earthquake, building, building. the timer on the pristine white pillar flashing 00. The white wolf left the feline to slowly climb to his feet. the oddly complex little bottle appearing in the wolfs hand once more as he approached the white pillar. gently, he set it atop the pillar once more, a soft chuckle slipping his lips "You have won king," he turned toward the battered feline, dipping in a soft bow as he left the vial sitting on the humming pedestal "I submit, and award you your prize" he mocked him "I, however, as much as I would love to stay for the fireworks, must take my leave of this place" he carefully retrieves the rugged case left sitting beside the pedestal sometime during the fight, brought a hand across his chest as he bowed "I wish I could say that this has been...fun" and suddenly, in less then the space of a blink, the wolf was gone. a bright glow building in the pedestal before the room tore apart in a flash of overwhelming white, the powerful feline vanishing into the light without a trace.
______

The shifter dragged the reptile boddily along behind her as she ran full tilt for the lift, panicking as it lurched and began it's climb upward without her. her fur suddenly began to shift and change, her light footsteps changing midstride into heavy thudding foot steps as her body shifted and stretched out, wings springing from her back as she took on the form of a large eastern dragon. The large wings snapping out and driving the air beneath them as she pulled the smaller reptile into the air with her, darting through the closing gap the lift created with astounding ease. she twisted and pushed off the walls as she hurried through the tight corridor for the exit, bursting through the vaulted steel, scattering onlookers as she tore her way out into the street to kick off the pavement and soar skyward with the small reptile grasped protectively in her clutches.

The building far below beginning to glow with a faint light before nearly three square street blocks erupted in a ball of white fire around the Neosuns Facility, destroying anything and everything caught in it's path...just moments after shifter had cleared the blast.

For but a moment, visible to the reptile from his hightened vantage point, was the White furred wolf, clad in his perfect black lab suit and carrying in his hand, the black ruggedized case. watching. watching the destruction of the facility, at everything around as it was torn apart and incinerated in the ball of fire. A small smile creeping along his muzzle as he pushed a small pair of disc shades up a bit.

And then he was gone. there for but a blink in time, leaving doubt of his existance in those who saw him on the highrise building.

Drake blinked in absolute confusion as King, the almighty, untouchable King, was thrown back by a wolf that never moved, never showed any real form of aggression aside from the sneer that he graced King with. King launched his own assault in retaliation, Drake's eyes taking in every color and every motion even as he was dragged along by the shifter. The reptile cringed as one strike brought the only fighter to beat him down to the ground. This wolf... was beyond anything the reptile had every imagined. He fought without moving, struck without warning, seemed to dodge the very air itself! It was... beautiful... dazzling... amazing. All the power King brought to bare was rendered useless against a foe that seemed as immaterial as a ghost yet as overwhelming as a god!

The thing being fought over? A small glass vial, something so small it looked insignificant! Yet they fought over it like it was the... the answer to becoming a god! If that was true... Drake looked to his shadow as it wavered in the alarm light, then back up at the vial. With the two gods fighting... he could... maybe if he ran. Pupils narrowing to slits, the komodo geared up to rush for the vial, but just as he lifted a foot, the reptile was jerked into the air, leaving the ground.

“NO!” The lizard shouted, uselessly clawing at the air in the direction of the vial, writhing in the shifter's grasp, “PUT ME DOWN! I CAN GET IT! IT'S RIGHT THERE!” He continued to fight against her as she flew up and out, his desperate actions only ceasing as the building erupted into a blinding white light. He roared in agony, blinking against the blaze of light, searching in desperation for some sign of King, the wolf, or the vial, but only the destruction of the facility met his eyes.

Crying out in frustration, Drake went limp in defeat, growling at his failure to act sooner. Anger swelled in him and he raised his head to screech again, but the sound died in his throat as he spied the impossible. Despite the blazing white light, Drake's eyes spotted the black of a suit... and the white-furred wearer: the wolf. If there had been any doubt of this wolf's godhood, it was erased in this moment that burned into the reptile's mind as time stood still for that moment.

The wolf surveyed his handiwork and began moving a pair of sunglasses to his face, but the part that caught the reptile's attention was the briefcase in the wolf's grip. Could it be? Wait, where did the wolf go? He was just there... and now he was gone. Confused, dazed, and lost, Drake gave no more resistance as he was carried away by the shifter...

Three grunted as his head bounced off the vehicle, staggering back, holding his helmet. The second strike knocked him off his feet, sending him onto his back. Bullets ricocheted off the titan's body as One opened fire, drawing Anima's attention. With the behemoth focused on One, Three regained his feet and pulled his chain gun off his back, aiming at Anima. The barrel warmed, getting ready to fire and...

The ground began to tremble. Gold Team looked around, assessing the possible new threat as the vibrations grew in intensity until the street was shaking hard enough to jostle cars. Not knowing what was going on, but knowing it couldn't be good, One signaled Three to forget about Anima and tapped his radio, barking out orders. Immediately, Four burst into the scene, grabbing Three and One before vanishing again.

A moment later, he appeared again, gently prying Kazzra off the street and onto his back before flashing out, only a moment before the building only a few blocks away burst into a blazing white light....

Alice managed to stagger her way back to the warehouse, and as she did she felt the bones in her leg painfully snap back into place of their own accord. Causing her to cry out in pain. She also began to experience an intense burning in her chest as the bullet that struck her began to slowly and painfully slide out. The whole ordeal left her curled up on the sidewalk in the fetal position, gasping for breath she managed to pull herself back onto her feet, only to be knocked down again as the ground shook from the massive explosion. And at that moment one thing occurred to her. She needed to find Kevin and get the hell out of the area before the police or even, perhaps the military show up to contain the situation.

But there was also the issue of the mechanical man. Chances are he would be seeking revenge after what Alice had managed to do to him. Upon reaching the warehouse, Alice was relived to find Kevin was still alive and well. What was she even thinking!? Running off like she did was just reckless and stupid!

"Alice! Are you ok? Do you know what that explosion was?" Kevin asked, the worry clear in his voice.

"I'm fine, but I honestly have no clue what the hell that explosion was about. Personally? I think we need to get the hell out of here before someone shows up to seal off the area." Alice replied.

"Its not going to be the police or the military that end you. IT'S GOING TO BE ME!!!" Karl shouted as he dove from atop the warehouse shelves towards Alice, and as he landed in front of her, he drove his mechanical arm, which was in the shape of a pickaxe, straight through her gut, causing her to moan out in pain as she collapsed to the ground.

"YOU BASTARD! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU FOR THAT!!!" Kevin shouted as he began to blast Karl with both fire and frost.

"Is that the best you can do!?" Karl shouted in reply as he simply walked towards Kevin, the fire and frost blasts did absolutely nothing to him what so ever. As he got close to Kevin he took a swing at his neck, but Kevin managed to just barely dodge out of the way, causing Karl to collide with the shelving resulting in the shelf and its contents to tip over, upon tipping over, the shelves split apart and pipes rolled away in several directions, a vast majority of the shelves contents caught fire and the warehouse was soon flooded with smoke.

Karl looked around in an attempt to relocate his opponent, but Kevin had hid himself well in the resulting smoke, not only that but Kevin had also managed to arm himself with a section of pipe.

"Alright you son of bitch! This ends here!" Kevin shouted as he charged through the smoke, swinging his pipe indiscriminately at anything that may have looked vaguely like his opponent. This was a mistake which allowed Karl to grab a hold of him and throw him against the warehouses central support beam. Karl then ran off into the smoke, and from there he threw a massive iron crate in Kevin's direction.

And just as Kevin thought it was all over. Alice jumped through the air and collided with him, causing the pair to get out of the way of the projectile just in time. But the crate's collision had severely damaged the main support beam, and with fire and the damage, the whole place was not going to stand much longer.

Karl began throwing anything he could get his hands on at the two of them, and he was a good thrower. Alice got sliced by a broken bottle, and Kevin took a brick to the head. As well as a multitude of other injuries.

"So I guess I didn't finish the job with you." Karl said to Alice as he walkout out from the smoke. "No matter your both going to die here. I will make sure of that."

Alice, grab the kid and get the hell out of here! I got one last trick up my sleeve." Kevin panted in exhaustion as he snapped the fingers on both his hands and put them together in the shape of a gun, doing so combined both the fire and frost, turning it to a strange shade of white.

"Oh please, that didn't work the first time! What makes you think it will wor-" Karl's sentence was interrupted as Kevin fired the shot at him, and it was a direct hit that caused Karl to fly into the main support and knock out what was left of it.

Kevin managed to escape just before the main part of the building collapsed. he had no idea weather or not Karl was still inside during the collapse nor did he even care, he was just glad to have survived the ordeal. "Come on. We need to get out of here before some one shows up." Kevin said to Alice. Upon finishing his sentence, he collapsed to one knee. He had lost a fair amount of blood from the injuries he sustained in the battle, not to mention the fact that he was dizzy as hell from having taken that brick to the head.

"Your right but if you keep bleeding like that we wont make it far." Alice replied as she took off her sweatshirt and began to tear it to create makeshift bandages for Kevin. "How the hell can you even be walking around all banged up like that?" She asked

After Alice took a moment to wrap up Kevin's injuries. They began to make their way down the street towards a subway station. They could hear the sounds of sirens blaring in the distance.

"Something tells me things are going to get a hell of a lot worse." Kevin said as both he and Alice started to descend into the subway.

"Well lets hope to god they dont shut down the subway. There is no way in hell im walking home at this hour." Alice replied.

Luckily...the subway was open and they both managed to make it back to their neighborhood without a problem.

"I dont know how im going to explain all these injuries to my mother." Kevin said as the pair ascended form the subway station.

"Just tell them we got mugged and you bravely fought them off and defended me." Alice suggested.

"But that mugging attempt was a few days ago, and we both fought them off." Kevin replied.

"Yeah, but its close enough to the truth, no one said you couldn't omit details at the sake of you're own convenience." Alice retorted.

"Have I ever told you how clever you are sometimes?" Kevin said as he leaned in to hug Alice.

"I'm glad you think I am Kevin, I seriously am." Alice replied as she hugged him back.

"Goodnight." Kevin said as he released Alice.

"Goodnight." She replied.

They didn't know it. But just down the street, a Lone Figure watched them from the shadows. "Look's like we have a pair of love birds." The Lone Figure thought to itself. "I will just have to split them up later." It thought as it began to walk away.

As the ground shook and the light grew between the buildings, the massive metal feline paused, the aggressive stance relaxing as the hail of annoying gunfire ceased, the combatants vanishing one by one by the aid of their comrade. he simply stood before it, watching the light grow between the buildings, consuming them in the brilliant white, the pure white, destroying everything in it's path.

He stood solid, not hesitating, nor taking a step back as he stared in the eye of god, watching as the ground was torn apart and thrown skyward before vanishing into the ball of white fire.

with no way to run, from this immediate danger, the feline embraced the decision made for him, opening his palms toward the light as he closed his eyes, waiting the final judgement.

moments passed, the ball of fire tearing it's way ever closer.

It would be on him soon enough, but yet, when he expected it, he felt nothing, no sudden wave of heat, or separation of body and mind. his metallic eyes cracked back open, all was white before him, but not as he was expecting, the sky and earth still existed but barely. the white fire had stopped it's advance mere inches in front of the feline.

His fingers curled as a low rumble built in his chest, the light suddenly snapping out, leaving nothing but the empty crater of destruction, and spots in his eyes that would slowly fade. his eyes moved down, examining the remains of the ground, following the line of the crater around, where it cut through the remains of his already reconstructing porshe. The vixen that had sat, awaiting her rest, gone. consumed along with the rest of the porshe.

He'd stood before the eye of god, gazed into oblivion, and walked away to tell the tale. There was work to do.
______

The Shifter carried the lizard high over the buildings, the angle shifting as the blast receded, aiming for a rather hard landing atop one of the sky scrapers still remaining standing at the edge of the blast, dropping the lizard onto the roof before crash-landing, and going rolling, a loud crack coming from the large wings as the bones fractured from the twisting roll. a cry of pain coming from the dragon as she collapsed on the gravel of the rooftop, her form slowly beginning to shift back to a neutral form, the young vixen that Drake had met in the car, marks of bruises showing lightly through her light fur where her larger form had taken hits and damage, a thin line of blood darkening the back of her shirt as a bulled wound she'd taken transferred to a nasty gash along her back, a soft dragging sound on the gravel as her larger form returned to the small vixens, tossed aside after the blast, her breaths coming shallowed and labored as her blood stained rocks.

"--incident at the Neosuns facility was a most regrettable one" The white wolf stood before a podium lined with microphones, cameras trained on him and his black, mirror lensed shades, hanging on every word he spoke "While specifics of the incident are not entirely clear," He lied "we have reason to believe a prototype power source being tested beneath the facility, overloaded and caused a chain reaction back into facilities geothermic converter, resulting in the explosion that destroyed nearly three city blocks" in the brief moment of pause, the reporters shouted multitudes of questions at him, and he politely put a hand up to silence them, singling out a single question from the barrage about the rumors of sights just before the explosion "I'm afraid I am unable to confirm the presence of these sightings at this time, including that of the crime boss by the name of King, our records do show an unauthorized entry but unknown means into the facility, but the sightings of this notorious crime boss are just that, rumors. until the facilities black box is recovered from the wreckage, if it is recovered and not lost in the blast, will we ever know exactly what happened earlier today" the wolf lied with a perfect poker face before making a gesture to say he was open for questions

"Sir, what can you tell us about these silent sentinels that have mysteriously appeared around the blast crater?!" one of the reporters up front shouted out

"Ah, very good question" he laid on the charm, a smooth, knowing smile to ease the hearts and minds of the publics "Ladies and gentlemen, we of Neosuns and the parent company Pharcom, ask that you do not approach these, sentinels, as our friend here has so affectionately named them. This is asked of you, for your own safety. Neosuns Corp deals in all sciences from the chemical, to the biological with theoretical work into both quantum physics and antimatter power sources." his expression took on a stern appearance as he addressed a camera directly "Until Neosuns has cleared the area of any contaminations or possible harm, we ask that patrons keep their distance from the site unless absolutely necessary for their own health."

"Sir, is there any connection between the Neosuns Facility and the reports of supers running around the city? or the battle that took place down on the eastern shore?" another shouted when he got his chance

"I'm afraid…" the wolf pursed his lips "I cannot confirm any relation or possible connection, to the supers running amuck in our grand little city. The supers that have besieged our city are the result of an accident that happened at the docks some time ago. Neosuns is not to be held accountable for that sorry incident, it was merely a bit of…bad luck" he gave a toothy smile to the cameras "unfortunate, but impossible to have predicted, nor prevented, already Neosuns has begun work on a means to undo the sad effects this has done to the proud citizens of our city" he lied once more "Unfortunately, this work has been pushed back by this event"

"Sir, what can you tell us about the generations project--" the reporter was cut off as the wolf put his hand up to silence him

"I'm sorry, but that's all the time I have to answer questions. Nothing further" He turned on a heel and retrieved a silver case that sat behind the podium as he placed the pair of disc shades back on his nose and moved silently down the few short steps, ignoring the sudden outburst from the collective of gathered reporters, held off by but two of the silent sentinels, but none dared approach the pair of Foxes that towered over the crowed, unmoving, unblinking until he moved and summoned them along by some unseen command, the last camera shot being of the wolf ducking into the back of a tinted window Lincoln, the cameraman getting gutsy and trying to get close to get a shot of the interior before one of the foxes hands latched over camera lens, the expressionless face being the last image before the lens fractured under the grip in a burst to static and the image zoomed back out to the pair of Anchors reporting on the incident, tossing off a short, witty remark in a vain attempt to ease the mind of the city a bit before the newscast moved over to a shaky report on weather
