It was a completely different experience being the spectator. After taking part in so many battles herself, Ruto had an out-of-body feeling as she watched the carnage unfold beneath her. A small band of Hyruleans desperately drove back their attackers as wave after wave of Bulbins charged their lone convoy. She watched with a detached interest as her Bulbin allies were slaughtered wave after wave. I didn't matter though, the warriors were only delaying the inevitable. All it took was one person to lose focus. To become exhausted. To make one single solitary mistake. She laughed to herself quietly as the situation met its breaking point. A young brash soldier foolishly strayed too far from the rest of the group and was quickly surrounded. Ruto watched in fascination as this young man fought wildly to stave off his attackers before quickly succumbing to the horde. It was then that each Hyrulean fought and fell, one by one like a set of dominoes.
The Bulbin, victorious, then screeched and howled at the sun. Ruto, familiar with their customs and language joined them in this ritual prayer, howling to the sky high above, angry at their gods, the creators of this realm. A Bulbin officer noticed her presence and bowed graciously as she slid down the steep incline. "With Farore's courage." The warrior greeted. His hyrulean was atrocious, but audible.
"And Din's fire" Ruto replied.
"What is it that brings the great one here?" He asked. The Bulbin were a culture of servitude, always fighting for someone else's interests.
"I am to go accompanied by one of your own to Castle Town to bring a message." Ruto answered, producing a scroll. "It is urgent that we maintain contact with our spies in the castle." She explained. Espionage was never their strong suit, which became somewhat of a culture shock to the Bulbins whom often thought of deception as a sign of weakness. However, Lord Bullbo's wisdom had grown since his defeat at the hands of the legendary hero, and whomever stayed loyal to him quickly adapted to the Garudo practices.
"May your journey go unimpeded, warrior." He wished before turning back to the mad frenzy of his troops whom were collecting the spoils and taking anyone that was still alive prisoner. Ruto sighed at the sight and quickly made her way to her horse before riding off towards Hyrule Fields. The journey was only going to get more hectic the closer she got to castle hyrule. Her first stop, Hyrule Fields, were home to many enemies including rouge Bulbin, Hyrulean patrols, and perhaps the odd Zora or two.
