i havent read huckleberry finn, but i have read Tom Sawyer.
as for the use of the "n" word, thats just fine.
you know how many times i've been called "the N word"? i lost count. (i'm white)
i've heard black people call each other "the N word"
it's in music sung by black people.
for goodness' sake! people need to grow up and stop being offended by a word.
this actually reminds of a story...
Zahldar wrote:a school where i live actually tried to ban "the adventures of Tom Sawyer" because of the word "Nigger".
apparently, a local black student got all offended by it, when the teacher read it out loud in the class (they were all reading while the teacher read out-loud).
so...she bitched to her parents, who bitched at the school...fortunately, the librarian and her assistant, are better at bitching than the parents so it is still in the library...all this while there is a book in the library (a middle school, mind you) that has the word "dick" in bold, large font...
it's a word... and has lost all meaning when a black person says it. but when a WHITE person says it
...oh... my... god! racist! racist! racist!but enough of that...deep breaths zahldar...deep breaths...
