Why do you have a fursona?

Well...With me I always felt I had the personal attributes of my fursona. I love to laugh, I am random in rl, I don't take things too seriously, and I am a fun loving guy. Also I have a very distinct laugh one of those laughs that makes others laugh.

But overall like they said above.."its just fun" ^w^

To me, Fursonas are fun to draw, and just a way of expressing comedy.
I pretty much got the idea of a furry self when I started reading 'Fur Will Fly' in high school.

my fursona was more of a comic idea, but gave up, so I drew myeslf as an arctic fox, then I came up the foxphantom but it was to be a username so noone could reconize me, I gave in and it became my nickname.

Hmmm, why do I have a fursona...That's a good question... I might as well first use the template from the first post:

Species: Fox; They're clever, resourceful, and smart; Like me.
fur color: Chocolate Brown; I'm a natural Brunette; Thus my fur should be too.
Eye color: Dark Brown; Unless you look close, you'd think my eyes were black.
Hair: Long straight-ish hair in the back with medium-lengh bangs in the front, Chocolate Brown; It matches my fur!
Weapons: Armored Suit with Boosters attached to Leg Units and Wings that also boost; I'm a Sonic fan and a Rockman fan.
Build: Skinny with a bit of a gut.
Height: About 5"6'
Personality: Smart, Clever, Resourceful, and Crazy...LIKE A FOX!

This comic inspired me to make my fursona using Gen8Hedgehog's Furry Dollmaker. Doing that, I than found a funny similarity between my friend Alex and Bruce; They're both bordering on the insane. I orginally wanted to make him a Hedgehog, but since I've never seen such in FH, a fox will work just fine; Besides, I fit the fox style more:

recently ive been thinking about my character leon and why he exists. and more importantly why ,out of all the characters ive come up with over the years, he is the only one still around. and what i came up with is that he is an extension of me. what i strive to be like. or more what i want to be like i should say.

when leon was originally created i was in 7th grade. leon started out influenced by video games like zelda and anime like vampire hunter d and flcl. so he was essentially a feared and respected warrior.

he changed over the years as i did and as my life moved forward.

he is now my fursona. when his human form was cast so was his name. now he is aloe, an anthro gray wolf. very protective but nonviolent otherwise.

in short. my fursona is what i want to be like. and i do my best to be like aloe. aloe is sort of an extension of myself. different but still me

I didn't have a fursona when I first came to the forum. In fact, I was new to the fandom itself. I had no idea what one was, until somebody brought it up, so I decided to research what a fursona was.

For me my fursona is like an alter-ego. it represents me.

Same here. I see a kitsune as the animal to describe me, and I just like the animal in general

Interesting story, really. A while back, when I really started getting interested in being a casual artist with a deviantART account (this was ninth grade), I decided it would be a good idea to be able to represent myself artistically, but as something other than what I look like. This was due to me (a) being paranoid about internet privacy, (b) failing at drawing humans, and (c) just wanting to have fun and experiment with animal art. My first "fursona," though I didn't know of the term back then, was a purple dragon. I loved dragons in my younger days.

That was when I got hooked on The Lion King. After joining TLKFAA, an art repository for TLK-based art only, I soon realized that I would have to think of some other way to draw myself. Thus Mahewa was born. *points to avatar* Eventually I ended up drawing Mahewa way more than I drew my dragon. She was cuter.

Anyway, after joining the furry community, I gave Mahewa an anthro form, and she's been my fursona ever since. I like how she looks as a lioness, so I've kept her a lioness.

Well as I have clearly made it obvious in every other thread I've posted to, My fursona is myself, I dont have that "fake animal representation of me" quite opposite I have a "fake human representation of myself" My name is Crystal, my mate named me that, for the way my eyes give off that shine, I'm a snow leopard because....Well...I was born one. Im also a lion one because I've always felt that spirit burning inside of me. anyway I see everything as it should be when im angry I feel and see my tail bushing out, i have paws. I look in a mirror and the most handsome snow leopard smiles back, when i look down i see that body and if everyone else sees a human, -shrugs- just an illusion :3
