My mom's thoughts about me being a furry and a question...

Talk about that strange place that exists outside your house!

In Aus we have a thing called "The tall poppy syndrome" were we like to cut our celebrities down if they get too big for themselves.

I think if furries got too big that would happen to them too. Good thing furries getting too big for themselves will never happen!
She's watching you. FOREVERRRRRRR!!!

The flower metaphor has also been used to describe collectivistic cultures, such as Chinese and Japanese traditional cultures, where "standing out from the crowd" is a bad thing and being no different than those around you is important. In this way, everyone is at the normative level in terms of value.

Kinda whack.

Yep. That's why social scientists use the word normative -- it allows for cultural context to be taken into account without preconceived notions of the idea of "normal."

Yeah. More places should embrace the idea that teaching people how to properly and safely operate firearms is important. Instead, some locales treat guns like sex -- abstinence is the only way. Never mind that ignorance about firearms safety is both irresponsible and hazardous.

Sorry, but that episode does annoy me quite a lot. I'm not one of the ones who says it should be banned ofc, but nonetheless, I disapprove of it and it has tainted my views about an otherwise good program.

Anyway, back to the topic, we certainly do not belong in mental institutes, if you started chucking people into them for holding an interest in something, then we'd all be in them, out interest just happens to be of something a bit unusual that also has a bad reputation due to a few members of the fandom and the fact that people tend to only see that side and assume we're all like that (personally, I have no problem with those who like yiff anyway, but I can understand why others do).
If you have the chance, laugh, it's one of life's greatest pleasures :)

Stumbled across this fur code thingy, thought why not: FCF3a A>A+~++ C->C++ D- H+ M- P- R T+/++ W-- Z Sm- RLET>RLMH a- cn~+ d- e- f h* i++ j-/--* p sm+

My name is unimportant. My purpose is simple, extraction of any further information from you. We can do so here, or we can do so in my private quarters. Doing so would be markedly more unpleasant.

Hmm...If your mom can't accept you for who you are, look around you. I'm sure there are plenty of people in your area that are fine with your intrests...Hell, I have a few friends that sit down every now and then to discuss furry comics, and I usually come along with 'em (We go to Uno's. Freaking FTW.)!

Just remember that you are NEVER alone, and you will always have people supporting your intrest in furries, like myself.

I think that while your mom is very wrong about what she believes, yelling at her and calling her an idiot won't make her any more open to the truth. Love others!
