Legitimate: why be furry, why be part animal?

I would have to agree that getting furs is something lots of people would like, and others just wonder why have them.
I'd only become a fur because of the increased abilities, really what makes a human is how you think, I think that even if there were no humans and everyone were just furs and whatnot, our thinking wouldn't change, after all... A thousand years has changed little, a simple change of genestructure and looks would change next to nothing, maybe even make things worse.
Yet unless we have the crystal of Neatid or are good friends with Time itself, we cannot tell what the future will hold and what will happen. It's more likely that upon mixing genes and making super-vaccines we will come across what we call furs or superhumans, or maybe even start a zombie apocalypse.
Years have shown us that rushing things can only make it go to hell. The red and black death was simply just evolution, it has almost nothing to do with the amount of a certain race, disease is something that we sometimes make, with all our pollution or research with the elements, even if trying to make a biological or chemical weapon, a bit gets out and becomes a disease, like H1N1 or the Swine Flu.
Also there is already a cure for cancer, but like any cure it takes time as there is no way to effectively remove a virus in a flash without damaging the body or killing the host. Just give us a few more years of war, then some goof with a research permit will try and make a super-soldier and it might lead to the means to become half-animal or half-wildlife.

But in this instance we are talking of a dream that will come true in a matter of time, it can happen with either natural selection/evolution or research and gene tampering, it can take 20 years, or it can take until our star has died, we cannot know.
Although i said that we dont know if it will happen, just remember that the power of the mind is one, greater than nuclear power and if you truely belive it will happen, then it will and it's only just a matter of time.
