The ice eyes of the vixen paused on the feline, just as her step did, a single, last crunch of snow as she placed her foot gently down, an unconcerned glance over her shoulder found the reptile approaching behind. Fools. both of them.
The soft settling of snow around the alley suddenly kicked up in full force, blasting against the armored combatants and roaring around the vixen. her poise remaining still and controlled as the hard winds whipped about her, her icey gaze never leaving the feline as her hair was tossed about in the wind. a thin frost slowly starting to creep over the lenses of the soldiers helmets, obscuring their vision further as gusts buffetted against the armor, pushing them around with gale force.
In a split moment, as a strong blast of snow and wind buffeted, the vixen vanished, the suits motion sensors going wild to the snow whipping around them, loosing the vixen in a blink, the heat sensors finding nothing but the small group of children now also being blasted by the torrents of snow and icey wind.
As the two soldiers looked around, fighting the gale and trying to find the vixen among the snowstorm, a single blow, hard and precise, came to the back of the felines neck, sending her sprawling nose first into the snow, before she could even get her hands under her, a foot was pressing hard on her neck, positioned perfectly to keep the feline from gaining any leverage against her.
A voice, clear and hard, and tainted with a heavy russian accent, came beside the felines helmet, slicing through the torrents of wind and snow with ease "I will pull you from your little tin suits, piece by fucking piece if you do not listen carefully" the pressure on the felines back eased up ever so slightly "As you've probably noticed, I am not new to this little game you americans choose to play. you will not leave this storm without my help, and neither will the children" a thin patch in the wind showed the small group as the wind eased for but a moment, the sister over her brothers body, the young boy that carried the scketch book, each slowly getting covered in the freezing snow before the image vanished among the snowstorm again "The children will not last as long as you and your friend with your nice tin suits," The voice paused a moment before continuing "Now here's the deal. You and your reptillian comrade, stand down, you leave your weapons laying in the snow, all of them, not just what's in your hands. All of them. The blizzard will thin enough for you to find the children, and you get them out." the voice paused again, a harsh whisper as it was closer to the helmet "You make one move against me, and I will peel you from your tin suits piece by fucking piece, then I will kill each of the children while I make you watch, before I come for you and slowly remove the life from you and your comrade."
"You have one chance, and one chance only, I will release you, and count to ten, if I reach ten before your weapons, and your comrades, hit the ground, I will consider your decision made, and paint the walls and stain the snow with yours, your comrades, and the childrens blood" The pressure was suddenly gone from the felines back "Make you choice...One....Two...Three..." the count slowly continued as the voice stepped back into the winds, if the feline had looked back, but for a moment would she see the pair of icey eyes staring back before they vanished into the blizzard.
Ember twisted and dropped low as the round seared through her ear, taking one of her many earrings with it. A thin growl coursed her lips as she watched the white earring go bouncing across the wet concrete "My Earring!" she growled, a fire in her eyes as she looked up at the man before her, her firey eyes locking onto the shotgun leveled at her.
Her mind moved quick as she ran over her options, small flames building around her feet, slowly spreading in a circle around her. "You're on my list Wolf" A blast of flame suddenly shrouded her as she twisted and kicked off the ground, a jet of fire trailing behind her as she launched clear, the flames charing the wolfs boot plates as the jet of flame tore out of the square and out over the bay, weaving and twisting till she was clear of the snipers range before vanishing entirely in the down town district.
Anima nodded imperceptibly as Kazzra made his retort for his boss, getting only a few steps before the bear stepped out in front of him. standing in a silent stand off with the bear
His deep rumble of a voice cut through the slowing drizzle of the rain "Has there not been enough death to sate you're hunger, that you must have more? I have no reason to fight you, but if you give one, you will not walk away"
Alex hummed to himself out of habit as he ran his paws over the surface of the door, the surface loosing it's reflective surface as his powers etched into it. slowly the outline of a door formed, easily doubly wide enough for King to fit through, setting his hands in the center, the entire surface lost it's gloss before he pushed easily through it, the metal turning to a fine powder as it fell to a pile around him.
As the last of the door was cut through, Alex stood to the side, letting the rest fall gently away to make way for King. The vault was open.
A man in a white lab coat dropped a stack of papers, making Alex turn with an 'oh shit' moment of staredown, a number of others in the stark white hallway staring wide eyed at the scene before them, a couple taking a tenitive step back as King stepped through the doorway, setting a paw on Alexs shoulder in a 'Well done' as he silently moved past, Alex flinching as an unfamiliar feeling coursed his shoulder, and he was rubbing it awkwardly as king strode past. Jazz snickered as she stepped by him, "Don't worry, ya get used to it" Alex just shook his head and rubbed his shoulder before following.
The small Ocelot slipped past with ease, one of the scientists plastering himself against the wall to get out of the Ocelots way, clearly recognising him more than anyone else in the facility. He moved past king, running a paw along the wall as he searched for a hidden panel, stopping and tapping against it, pulling it open to get at an access panel just before an open area of connecting corridors, his fingers moving over the interface expertly over it.
Scientists scrambled out of the corridor as the intersect suddenly dropped a few inches as the locks disengaged "there's our ride" the ocelots voice was deep and hard for his size as he turned from teh panel
Dox giggled as she brushed past Drake "Come on!" she pulled on his arm with a playful smirk, letting her tail brush against him as she darted past into the building
As they stepped onto the lift the ocelot keyed in another command and a heavy door sealed around each of the corridors, keeping the normal staff from falling down what was quickly becoming a deep shaft as the lift decended deeper, the walls of the shaft marking lower and lower levels till the shaft opened up, a line of light creeping up slowly till view of the entire lower facility was seen, the cavern stretching out beneath the city, the subway, everything.
All around men and women in white lab jackets worked and moved about, some in large mechanical suits moving machinery and equipment from one place to another. a red light suddenly dropped from the ceiling, others dropping across the ceiling of the facility. "They have a fucking alarm for that?!" the ocelot grumbled "They know who's here, we hit the bottom, we need to move fast, they have an alarm specifically for Kings return, who knows what other safe guards they've been putting in place"
Jennifer looked up as a red light strip lit along the inner edge of her desk, her optical implants allowing her to read the message as it ticked across Fuck. she glanced up to the pair of vixens, then to Jack "I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to wait here for the moment, there seems to be a problem in back" She nodded to the two vixens as she got up "We'll have you in a lab as soon as possible, Neosuns apologises for the inconvience" she gets up and steps off at an even pace down one of the two hallways, the pair of vixens taking up a position in front of each hallway, denying anyone access that tried to enter the now restricted facility
